Hi, my name's Alexi!
Let me tell you a little bit about myself~
I'm an American. I was born and raised in Southern Wisconsin; on land that is sacred Hoocąk (Ho-Chunk), Menomonee, and Bodwéwadmimwen (Potawatomi) lands. I love traveling, languages, people, art, culture and design. I am a full-time legal secretary and an "any-time-I-can-get" web design student. When I get time to myself I choose to spend it with friends, dancing, playing video games, writing, drawing, bullet journaling, and (my favorite) eating great food. So, welcome friends!
My goal
I'd like to create a place to share my upcoming vacation to! This way, I can focus on staying active on my blog bypassing standard social media websites. I'm looking forward to interacting with this site, testing the software, meet new people, find travel recommendations and just talk :)I'll also be doing my best to provide all the photography for the blog but depending on content and time constraints, it may be necessary to use stock photos at time. I'll indicate which. I'd also like to turn this blog into a portfolio. No plans for that yet.
Ultimately, I hope to provide you with some inspiration, travel tips, ideas, places to visit and some good recipes!
하지만 한국어를 할 줄 아세요??
But do you speak Korean?
네! Yes! Although this blog will be in English for the most part! I first learned Hangeul 3 years ago and have been practicing grammar and other skills everyday for the last 2 years. I've been studying on my own, I've had some practice with a few native speakers and I use King Sejong Institute for online language learning lessons, and I have some books on language lessons and culture/myths.
Korean is actually the 11th language I'm learning! I'm not incredibly conversational in any language other than English and German but even so it's been helpful being able to understand bits and pieces and know a foreign alphabet~ but not enough to be fluent, and barely conversational.
Why don't you study abroad?
I've looked into it! Many, many times, actually. And you know what, I'm trying my best. I've even applied for some programs but ultimately they didn't work out. So instead of waiting for another program that may or may not be related to my current degree, I'm just gonna continue my online classes and go to Korea. I'll be doing online courses during my trip. I'm thinking of it as a vacation with side quests. This way, I'll be able to study and travel at a pace that won't overwhelm me.

So...
Thank you! I appreciate you reading so far and any exploration you may have done on my site. I hope it's informative and entertaining :) I'm so looking forward to sharing with you all.
여러분 감사해요!
